Bacon Cheddar Angus Burger

Bacon is almost like a drug to me. I love it so much that when I eat a bacon cheeseburger, I pick off all the bacon and then regret it when there’s no bacon left to enjoy on my burger. This burger makes that problem disappear. The rolled oats, milk and flax seed make it extremely juicy and very filling. You would never know you’re getting a little extra fiber and healthy Omega-3 fatty acids as well as a few other vitamins when you sink your teeth into this amazing burger.

Bacon Cheddar Angus Burger

Yes, I know bacon is a fatty meat, but your body does need some fat. Just remember to buy bacon that does not contain sodium nitrite, sodium nitrate, colorings or flavors. I buy bacon from a local butcher or from Whole Foods. The same thing goes for the meat. I get mine from my local butcher. The beef is all grass fed and never given antibiotics, hormones. etc. It’s 100% meet and it practically melts in your  mouth!

2 pounds Angus ground beef

6-12ozs bacon, cooked and crumbled

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup milk

1-1/2 TBSP ground flax seed + 5 TBSP warm water

2 tsp sea salt

1 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp chipotle powder

Shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Mix together all ingredients except cheese.

Form into patties and cook in a pan or skillet until done all the way through, flipping patties as necessary.

Top with shredded cheese for the last minute so the cheese melts.

Oroweat has delicious Crustini sandwich rolls which make excellent buns and do not contain high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oil.

Makes about 8-10 hamburgers depending on how big you make them.
