I’m sure I’m not the only parent who hated to hear this question, “Were the dishes in the dishwasher clean or dirty?” AFTER the kids helpfully put dirty dishes in it. Of course, most times the answer was, “They are.. or umm, were clean.”
My mom had a magnet that slid from dirty to clean that she put on her dishwasher, but it got knocked off all the time or someone would bump it and accidentally slide it to the opposite of what was really lurking in there. My son said I should get one of those, but I didn’t like it so I came up with something better.. it’s easy to make and a lot cheaper!
Piece of cardstock paper
Marker, pen, pencil, paint or whatever else you want to use.
Cut a small piece of double-sided tape and attach to the clothespin.
Stick clothespin to the cabinet above the dishwasher.
Write out the clean phrase on one side and the dirty phrase on the ther side. You can get creative and design something fancy on your computer and then print it out, but I prefer the quick, less-than-5-minute version.
Have you ever tried something like this before?
