2 TBSP raw honey
2 TBSP organic lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
4 ounces of filtered water
You can’t actually dissolve cinnamon, but you can steep it for a few minutes in hot water to draw out the cinnamon oil. Then strain through cheesecloth folded in several layers in a fine mesh strainer. If you do this, make sure to let it cool before adding the honey and other ingredients because heat kills the beneficial healing properties of the honey.
When I make this, I just whisk all the ingredients together and drink it fast. That way I’m not wasting any of the fiber or other healing properties of the cinnamon. It’s a little stout and it can be slightly difficult to get all the cinnamon out of the cup, but it works amazingly well to boost your immune system to prevent colds or to get over those nasty germs if you’ve already gotten them.
