Mild Breakfast Sausage

We love sausage but the list of not so appetizing ingredients in store bought sausage is ridiculous. Some stores and local butchers carry sausage that foregoes those things, but they are crazy expensive. I’ve thought about making my own sausage for a while now, but I talked myself out of it because I assumed it would be difficult to make. I was so wrong about that. This is one of the easiest things to make.

Breakfast Sausage

2 pounds ground pork

1 TBSP turbinado or light brown sugar

2 tsp dried parsley

1-1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp thyme

1/4 tsp ground sage

1/8 tsp ground rosemary (or 1/4 tsp crushed rosemary)

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg


Mix all ingredients together in bowl.

Form into patties and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes per side.

Make sure the patties are cooked thoroughly an no pink remains inside.
