2, 12oz cans of southern style biscuits (or make your own)
2-3 cups sharp freshly shredded cheddar cheese
4 TBSP milk
2 TBSP ground flax seed + 1/8 tsp baking powder + 6 TBSP hot water
2-3 tsp red pepper flakes
Crumble and cook sausage, drain grease when cooked thoroughly.
While sausage is cooking, mix ground flax seed, baking powder and hot water in large bowl, stirring occasionally. Mixture will thicken and resemble the texture of beaten eggs.
Mix in red pepper flakes and milk.
Cut biscuits into quarters and gently stir pieces into flax seed mixture to coat evenly. Work quickly because the biscuits will warm up and turn to a gooey mess, but they are still quite delicious even if this happens.
Fold in sausage and cheese.
Evenly spread ingredients into greased 13” x 9” pan.
Bake at 350 for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
Cut into squares and enjoy with a fresh cup of steaming hot coffee.
